ABOUT US:

Owners and founders of FYS Megan and Lydia have been passionately teaching Yoga, leading training programs, continued education, and retreats locally in Idaho, Texas and globally for many years. Each instructor offers something the other does not which is ultimately what makes this duo so magnetic! Lydia’s instruction embodies structure, safety and sequence building from an anatomical perspective while Megan will offer an insight to the energetic body, Ayurveda & philosophy. We truly believe in living a life of balance which looks and feels different for every-BODY! This is why we created Flow Yoga Collective, a school and retreats so that you too can find your state of Flow & live a life of fulfillment, abundance & passion.

LYDIA MILLER

Welcome!  I want to introduce myself and let you know a little bit about me. I am a Texas native who transplanted to Boise, Idaho in 2015.  I brought along my four kiddos (triplet boys and daughter), husband, cat and 2 dogs.  I love the great outdoors and all things movement and yoga.

With over 20 years of teaching, leading and building teacher training programs, continued education, specialty workshops, virtual classes and hosting retreats I have stayed busy sharing the goodness of yoga.  My passion and purpose is to cultivate a space for individuals to find connection, transformation, and alignment within their own journey.  Which means finding ways to apply the practice in your daily life.  My favorite part of teaching is to share how we can live with less rigidity and absolutes and more space for choice, freedom, and joy.

Each person has a unique form, function, and being, it's only natural to have physical, emotional and mental changes and fluctuations. Yoga practice can teach you how to listen and observe while managing ways to grow and flourish throughout your life. I am fascinated with balancing the traditions of yoga with new research and findings about the human body.  My purpose is to bring application of practice to life, making complex topics, such as anatomy, asana, philosophy, and much more feel simple, understood and applicable to each individual and in their own way.

My approach blends traditional yoga with modern day science and research.  I think of modern day yoga as a playground for exploration, information, and functional movement. I have found my blended education over the last 25 years from a multitude of teachers including Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jules Mitchell and many others who have influenced how I apply and teach yoga.  My hope is to continue to learn, grow, and share yoga my entire life.  And as far as I am concerned there are never any stupid questions, I will never know it all, and laughing is chicken soup for the soul.

Megan Aaron

Welcome to Flow Yoga School and Retreats. I'm so thrilled you found us! My name is Megan. I'm an entrepreneur, Yogi, mama of 2 and wife to the man who brought me to Boise about 12 years ago. I grew up in Spokane, WA and attended college in Coeur d’ Alene, ID where I first discovered the practice of Yoga. I always describe my first yoga class as a love at first sight sort of thing, it's actually very comparable to the first time I met my husband. I was so intrinsically connected that it completely freaked me out. I knew this practice was something that would forever change my life.

Long story short, I fell in love with the practice at a time in my life where health and wellness was not a priority. In fact I was struggling with depression, lack of self worth and hadn’t moved my body in a mindful way since dancing at age 16. Although I have always been decently athletic I had lost a lot of strength and forgot how powerful moving the body is. I will never forget how self conscious I felt when we would do any sort of “strength” postures as my entire body would shake. After consistency and the commitment to show up even when it was hard I started to notice radical shifts both physically and mentally.

I took my first teacher training in 2009 and have been teaching full time ever since. I have become extremely passionate about the energetic body and enjoy taking my students on a journey through the subtle body, chakra system and elements during my classes.I have found that this style of teaching is ideal when it comes to dropping into the “flow state”, that moment where you are perfectly engaged in the present moment. My style of teaching is inspired by my teachers Shiva Rea, Maria Garre, Bizzie Gold, Dr. Vasant Lad and so many others who have inspired me along the way. Beyond yoga I am also a certified Ayurvedic lifestyle coach and help individuals optimize their health through diet, lifestyle routines, meditation practices and more.

I hope to meet you soon, guide you through a class, retreat or training! It is my promise to remind you that you too can accomplish hard things, make changes and step into your full potential with the right state of mind, consistency and a solid support system (hint: that's us at FYS!)

- With love, Megan -
